Iron Ore (Fe)

Our complete end-to-end iron ore logistics — from large-scale African open-pit mines to international bulk carriers. We source high-grade iron ore lump and fines directly from certified producers across the continent, delivering reliable bulk volumes to steelmakers and trading houses worldwide.

Iron Ore — Mine to Market

Every tonne of iron ore follows a transparent 8-step journey from licensed African mines to international delivery.

Sourcing & Mining

Iron ore is extracted from large-scale open-pit operations across our partner producer network in East Africa. Each mine is licensed by national authorities, environmentally permitted, and audited for compliance with OECD due diligence and responsible mining standards. Drilling, blasting, and hauling are conducted by experienced operators using industrial-grade Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment to ensure consistent volume output.

Collection & Weighing

Mined iron ore is hauled by heavy dump trucks from the pit to on-site weighbridges and primary stockpiles. Each load is precisely weighed on calibrated weighbridge scales, with tonnage, source pit, and grade-class logged into our digital tracking system. Stockpiles are organized by grade band — high-grade lump, fines, and concentrates — to streamline downstream blending, processing, and shipment planning.

Crushing & Beneficiation

Run-of-mine iron ore is processed through primary and secondary crushers, screens, and where applicable beneficiation circuits — magnetic separation, jigging, or wet-processing — to produce sized lump (typically 6.3–31.5mm) and fines (under 6.3mm) at the target Fe grades buyers require. Our processing partners operate facilities meeting international metallurgical standards, with Kibal personnel supervising material balance and quality at each stage.

Assay & Quality Certification

Independent ISO 17025-accredited laboratories conduct rigorous assay testing on every shipment to confirm Fe content, silica, alumina, phosphorus, sulphur, and moisture levels. XRF spectrometry, sieve analysis, and chemical titration produce certified results for each lot. Buyers receive detailed assay certificates tied to the unique chain-of-custody record — providing complete confidence in the grade and quality of every tonne purchased.

Compliance Documentation

A comprehensive compliance package is prepared for each shipment: OECD due diligence reports, conflict-mineral declarations, country-of-origin certificates, environmental compliance attestations, mining royalty receipts, and all required government export authorizations. This documentation ensures buyers meet their corporate, regulatory, and supply-chain due-diligence obligations under global responsible-sourcing frameworks.

Secure Transport

Heavy-haul logistics from mine stockpile to export port — by rail, road, or barge depending on the corridor. Bulk iron ore is loaded onto road trains, rail wagons, or river barges and tracked end-to-end via GPS. All movements are insured for full transit value and coordinated with our security and logistics partners. Dedicated transport managers monitor each consignment in real time to maintain chain-of-custody integrity from origin to port.

Export & Customs Clearance

Full export documentation is prepared and submitted to relevant authorities — export licenses, customs declarations, pre-shipment inspection certificates (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Cotecna), and bills of lading. Our regulatory team navigates the export procedures of each African port of departure, ensuring smooth, compliant clearance without demurrage delays. Stockyard inventory is verified and sealed under customs supervision before vessel loading commences.

International Delivery

Bulk carrier delivery to global steelmakers and trading houses via Africa's major export corridors. Capesize, Panamax, and Handysize vessels are chartered through our shipping partners, with stowage planning and trim calculations executed by qualified loading masters. CIF, FOB, and DAP delivery terms are available to suit buyer requirements. Final document exchange and payment settlement complete each transaction.
